Episode-47- Are You An Expert or a Specialist

{EAV:f6e8a7f15b50a1fa}

What is the difference between a specialist and an expert.  A specialist has highly specialized knowledge that he can use to do something.  From programming a computer, to making a fine piece of furniture or writing a complex self learning algorithm.   Many specialists are to turn a phrase “wicked smart” but that doesn’t make them an expert.  Odds are as a content creator you are likely more of an expert then such highly specialized people.  The key is experts don’t just know things about a subject, they know how to explain things to others who don’t know as much as they do.

Tune in today to learn why you probably are an expert in at least one subject.  More importantly I give you the real secret to making other people see you as the expert that you are.

    Jack, another great show that really opened my eyes to what I’m doing. I now realize that I haven’t been very authoritative on the subjects that I’m speaking on. Thanks again, and enjoy your time off with your family.

    Experts, people get labeled by others as experts. Feels weird as you are thinking you still have much to learn about. surprising what others see you as a expert in.

    I was looking at friends who accidentally started businesses because others saw them as an expert. One lady helped plan a wedding did a great job for that person, she told others, more wanted help, and she ended up with a wedding planning business as the local expert. Does a great Job.

      No I did not say it was too competitive, I said the nature of sharing music might make the 1000 true fans model more difficult to harness for profit. As for guitar instruction I don’t think even that applies.

    Thanks Jack! I knew I didn’t get the wording exact. Sorry for the double post. I don’t think WP & iPhones play well together! It just made me wonder if my model of talking about guitars – info and instruction wasn’t the right way to go.

    I’ve been at it for two years now. No, I’ve been lax for the first year or so but you have been very good at inspiring and encouraging me through 5MwJ episodes. I’ve doubled my efforts and am doing more and more to increase my efforts.

    Thanks again for all your guidance!
